student drawing in class

.

Course Description

Senior Learners is designed for mature adults, 60 years of age and older, who are also New York State residents.

This beginner-friendly course introduces the fundamental principles, techniques, and materials used in observational drawing. Through still-life exercises and drawing from life, students will explore the elements of art, including line, shape, value, space, light, perspective, and composition. Demonstrations and constructive critiques will help students develop observational skills, build confidence, and establish a strong foundation in drawing. Intermediate-level students are also welcome. Some assignments may be conducted in designated off-campus locations.
