Course Description

In this introductory course, you will acquire the essential skills and learn the foundational tools and techniques for drafting basic garment sewing patterns using Adobe Illustrator. Beginning with how to take accurate body measurements, students will learn to translate these into digital pattern blocks (slopers) and refine them. The course emphasizes working with ASTM (American Standard Tables of Body Measurements) for consistent, industry-standard sizing. By the end of the course, you will be able to create foundational patterns, and prepare them for printing, whether on a wide-format printer at a professional shop or tiled for easy printing and review.
