Course Description

Make smarter fabric choices for your designs. From design to end use, learn when and how to use various types of fabrics. This course will begin with a retrospective survey of fabrications over time, move to a hands-on experience in FIT's Museum study room to look at historical designer garments, and end with a sewing workshop to learn various seams and hems. While this course is beneficial to all levels, students should have basic machine sewing skills.
