Course Description

Learn to design and sew with stretch fabrics! This intermediate sewing class will go over both the draping and sewing techniques needed to work with stretch knits. Students will start by draping a basic knit bodice, and then move on to more advanced drapes including a skirt and dress. Students will learn how to use an overlock sewing machine, cover stitch sewing machine, and various finishings for stretch items. They will conclude the course by making their own creative stretch design.

Notes

Prerequisite(s): This is an intermediate course. Prior sewing and draping experience with wovens/non-stretch is recommended. If you do not have these skills, you can take SXW 400 for sewing and SXP 190 for draping.
