Course Description

Do you enjoy working on a smaller scale? Curious about the world of miniatures? In this hands-on course, you’ll explore the fundamentals of miniature building while enhancing your visual storytelling and spatial design skills. You’ll design and construct a miniature corner room featuring two walls, a floor, furniture, and an optional ceiling. Working from concept to finished piece, you’ll hand-sketch ideas, plan your layout, and create realistic textures and effects at 1:12 scale. You may work from a kit or experiment with a mix of materials such as wood, clay, paper, paint, and found or salvaged objects. This course is ideal for makers of all kinds—especially those interested in model making, 3D design, interiors, or toy design—who want to explore working on a smaller scale with diverse materials. No prior experience required.
