Course Description

Using traditional hand tools, build your own small dovetail box and practice hand-cut joinery techniques. Learn the basics of hand-cut dovetails, using traditional hand tools, and sharpen and use hand tools effectively. Marking, measuring, and layout techniques are demonstrated and practiced. No prior experience is required.

Notes

Bring to first session: Dozuki Z saw or any dovetail saw of your choice, coping saw, 0.37-inch woodworking chisel, 5-inch combo square, pencils. Optional supplies: marking gauge, bevel gauge, Irwin 6.5-inch woodworker’s vise. Recommended text: Woodworking Basics: Mastering the Essentials of Craftsmanship, by Peter Korn. Tuition includes $45 for supplied materials.
