Course Description

Jewelry crafters looking to develop higher-caliber pieces and students who have completed JD 101 successfully hone basic skills in a studio environment. Learn to use professional tools and techniques, working on basic filing, sawing, and soldering skills. Learn studio safety, maintenance, and cleanliness. Proper design elements and use of metals and stones are taught as well as basic sketching techniques. SXK 101 is held in an FIT Jewelry Design studio room. Some tools available.
