Course Description

Expand your skills in observation, scale, and interpretation to create expressive art pieces for your portfolio or just for fun. Work from observation and reference using traditional and experimental drawing materials as you create a variety of artworks, from still-lifes to portraits. Recommended for students applying to Art and Design schools.

See below for the required course supplies.
  • 18 x 24 all-purpose paper pad. (white drawing or sketch paper, 70lbs and up)
  • Ebony pencil or graphite pencils (B2/ 4/ 6/)
  • Charcoal pencil (medium or soft) Black + White
  • Vine charcoal-small box(medium)
  • Compressed charcoal- 2 sticks (medium or soft)
  • Eraser
  • Kneaded eraser
  • Clipboard or foam board with clips: 18 x 24
  • Small container of black ink
  • Fixative spray for charcoal drawings
