Course Description

Senior Learners is designed for mature adults, 60 years of age and older, who are also New York State residents.

Using a small portable loom, you will learn how to weave decorative functional household items such as a potholder, trivet, or small wall hanging. A variety of weaves will be taught, including plain weave, basket weave, and stars aligned weave. You will become familiar with terminology that can be applied to other textile formats and tools used for weaving. Each student will craft their own woven home product and learn how to hand sew their squares together into a table runner or throw rug, if they so choose, for their final project.
