Course Description

Gain hands-on experience in the art of filmmaking, utilizing cinematic techniques like lighting, framing, and editing to captivate viewers. In this introductory course, you will collaborate with fellow aspiring filmmakers under the guidance of an experienced instructor to create your own short film and deliver impactful messages through your storytelling. This course is great for building a college portfolio and can be applied effectively to enhance your social media content.

ELIGIBLE GRADES: High School students entering grades 9 through 12 as of the upcoming Fall semester.


  • FIT username and password login information 
  • Pen & pad or laptop for note taking. 
  • SSD (solid-state drive) to store and edit projects (1 TB)
  • Please ensure the drives you bring are compatible with Mac. This means the drives should have a USB-C connection, or you must bring an adapter to connect USB drives to USB-C. The input on the Mac is USB-C

Students will need to be provisioned for Adobe Creative Cloud

Please note: Classes may be canceled due to low enrollment. We recommend that you wait until a week before class starts to purchase supplies. You will be notified by email if cancellations occur. Instructor assignments are subject to change.
