Course Description

Senior Learners is designed for mature adults, 60 years of age and older, who are also New York State residents.

This class gives you a new way to look at your old clothing. Discover a unique way of recycling previously unwearable vintage/old clothing by visiting the world of reconstruction. Create sustainable fashion by splicing together collectible garments that have been stained, torn, or banished to the sale bin. Create a new wardrobe using what’s already in your closet.

See below for required course supplies. 

Bring to the 1st class:  Garments to reconstruct (1-3 pieces); sewing needles; thread; scissors; and pins

 

Please note: Classes may be canceled due to low enrollment. We recommend that you wait until a week before class starts to purchase supplies. You will be notified by email if cancellations occur. Instructor assignments are subject to change.
