SXQ100 - Senior Learners: Introduction to Miniatures: Design and Build a Miniature Interior
Course Description
Senior Learners is designed for mature adults, 60 years of age and older, who are also New York State residents.
Do you enjoy working on a smaller scale? Curious about the world of miniatures? In this hands-on course, you’ll explore the fundamentals of miniature building while enhancing your visual storytelling and spatial design skills. You’ll design and construct a miniature corner room featuring two walls, a floor, furniture, and an optional ceiling. Working from concept to finished piece, you’ll hand-sketch ideas, plan your layout, and create realistic textures and effects at 1:12 scale. You may work from a kit or experiment with a mix of materials such as wood, clay, paper, paint, and found or salvaged objects.
