Precollege Programs hosts four-hour seminars for students in grades 6-12 that will give you a peek into FIT's majors and today's creative industries. Experience FIT's amazing faculty and alumni while you learn about the skills needed to succeed in these creative industries.

HWE 012 55A Creative Careers: Fashion Designer
Speaker: Mallorie Dunn
, Fashion Designer and Small Business Owner
Mallorie Dunn is a graduate of the FIT Fashion Design Program. She additionally has a degree in Art and Design Education from Pratt Institute. Post graduation, Mallorie worked in corporate fashion design in the Juniors sector, before switching to freelance work, and then launching her own business in Spring 2014 - SmartGlamour. Speaker: Joseph Delaney,
Product Development
Joseph Delaney, Product Development Manager, Joseph Delaney graduated from FIT with an AAS in Textile Development & Marketing and a BS in International Trade & Marketing. Over the past 10 years he's driven product development and managed global supply chains for startups and small companies in both the mass and luxury markets. Joseph directed production for aden + anais, including their first layette collection, brought luxury home accessories to life with AERIN, and is currently running product development & supply chain operations at FCTRY, overseeing a portfolio of brands in the beauty, accessories and toys industries.

Speaker: Blair Hirak, Marketer
Blair Hirak is a digital content professional with a focus on in-house content development and production. She is an alumni of FIT, where she received her AAS in Advertising & Marketing Communications in 2013 and BS in Entrepreneurship/Entrepreneurial Studies in 2014. She currently works at KIND Snacks, where she’s focused on social media, content development, and production for the past 6+ years. She has a knack for creative storytelling, an obsessive attention to detail, and infuses a hint of self-deprecating humor in everything she does...because life is better when you're laughing.

HWE 016 55A Creative Careers: Advertising & Digital Designer
Speaker: Nicole Zizila, Creative Director
Nicole Zizila is an FIT alumni and adjunct instructor in the Advertising & Digital Design BFA program. Working for more than 15 years in the advertising industry as a creative director, Nicole has come up with award-winning ad campaigns for global brands including M&Ms, Birchbox, Bank of America, Garnier Fructis and Pirate's Booty. Her work has been featured in numerous industry publications including AdAge, The New York Times Campaign Spotlight, The Drum Creative Works and Ads of The World. You name it, she's made it- Nicole has concepted and produced TV commercials, print ads, billboards, radio spots, websites, social campaigns, vertical video, branded content and more. A New Yorker through and through, she has worked at some of the city's most creative ad agencies and digital consultancies including BBDO, Publicis, IBMiX and FCB. See Nicole's work here:

HWE 021 55A Creative Careers: Fashion Merchandiser
Speaker: Jackie Gussin, Operations Manager
Jackie Gussin is a graduate of the FIT Textile Development and Marketing Program. During her time at FIT, she interned in buying and merchandising programs. Post graduation, Jackie became the Studio Services Coordinator at Barneys New York followed by a transition into the Saks Fifth Avenue Marketing Team where her responsibilities in the manager role encompass a mix of merchandising, management, operations and styling. With over a decade of experience in the fashion industry she offers insight into the jobs in the fashion merchandising industry focusing on client service excellence, goals achievement, versatility and financial impact.

HWE 017 55B Creative Careers: Fashion Designer
Speaker: Leonid Gurevich,
American fashion designer, editorial stylist, and a fashion photographer Leonid Gurevich is best known for creating strong fashion looks with luxury flair, characterized by an extreme degree of individuality. His work has appeared in numerous publications including The New York Times, Martha Stewart Weddings, New York Weddings, Departures, and HELLO. He has styled fashion presentations, look-books, campaigns for fashion brands, an ad campaign for NIKON Europe, and most recently, an ad campaign for the Cayman Islands Department of Tourism.
